For private and growing companies
Many Hong Kong businesses are now asked for ESG information by customers, banks and investors without any listing rule requiring it. We help establish practical ESG management that supports growth rather than adding overhead — starting from whatever is actually being asked of you.
- First-time reporting
- Carbon footprint
- Supplier ESG questionnaires
- ESG framework
- Pre-IPO readiness
- Bank & tender requests
- Product carbon footprint
- Staff training
Where the request usually comes from
- A listed customer building its own Scope 3 inventory and needing your emissions figures.
- A bank pricing a sustainability-linked facility, or a lender's ESG questionnaire during renewal.
- A tender or supplier onboarding process with an ESG section you cannot complete.
- An acquirer or investor running diligence and asking for carbon and governance data.
- A sponsor advising that ESG groundwork should be in place before listing.
Proportionate is the point
A private company does not need the reporting apparatus of a LargeCap issuer, and building one wastes money. We start by reading the actual questionnaire or request. Often the answer is a solid Scope 1 and 2 inventory and a short, honest disclosure document — considerably less than the enquirer's form implies, and enough to satisfy it.
Pre-IPO
If a listing is in view, the calculation changes. Getting the emissions baseline, governance structure and data process in place before the process starts removes a familiar late scramble, and means your first ESG report as a listed company is not also your first attempt at one. It is also considerably cheaper done calmly than done under a timetable.
Be careful with one-stop-shop packages. Where sustainability is one line item in a broad corporate services or IPO bundle, it is usually the line that gets the least experienced attention — and it is the one that ends up in a public document with directors' names on it.
