The problem with the current market

In an era where AI is everywhere, many businesses find that a paid engagement returns little more than an AI-generated opinion or report. It reads fluently. It is confident. It falls apart at the first informed question — and it is genuinely difficult, from the outside, to find advisory teams that do not over-rely on these tools.

The failure is not usually visible at delivery. It surfaces later: when an institutional investor presses a director on a scenario assumption, when an assurance provider asks how a figure was derived, or when a report has to stand up in front of international clients and stakeholders who have read a great many of them. Machine-assembled content is built to read well, not to be defended.

What we do differently

• Consultants write the analysis and the report. We use software for calculation and data handling, as any competent advisor does — but judgement, analysis and drafting are human, and every deliverable is reviewed by a second consultant.
• We work to international standards, because much of our clients' audience is international. Reports have to satisfy overseas investors and stakeholders, not just clear a local filing.
• We hand over the working files. Calculation workbooks, models and documentation belong to you, so nothing has to be reconstructed from our private files next year.
• We say when something is not achievable. Target feasibility, data quality, scope limitations — the uncomfortable version is considerably cheaper than a public correction.
• We do not compete on price. We scope work properly and quote it honestly, which sometimes means we are not the cheapest proposal on the table.

A note on IPO one-stop-shops

During a listing process, companies and sponsors sometimes take a single advisory team for everything. It is administratively convenient, and the sustainability workstream is frequently where quality quietly gives way — one line item among many, staffed thinnest, and discovered to be inadequate only after the document is public. If sustainability matters to your investors, it is worth resourcing separately.
